There are things of course you need to prepare if you are planning to earn a living with your arts. We are not talking to art collectors, we are addressing all artists out there who still struggling to make money using their art skills.

Things Needed

• Artworks (painting, drawings, etc.)
• A Little Amount of Capital
• A Social Network Profile/Account
• Payment Processors like PayPal
• A Website (Optional)
• Office Space, Shop Room or Gallery

Prepare Your Artwork – Be sure you have already created a lot of artworks so you have something to show to many people as possible.

Capital – you need to start with a minimum amount because you need to spend on marketing and in your selling. Remember, if you want to make money as an artist, you need to sell your products and services (we will discuss this later).

Social Network Accounts – you don’t have to have more accounts on many social networks. Prepare to have an account on Facebook and Instagram, and those are enough.

Payment Processors – this is very important, it is good to have a PayPal account, Skrill, Netteller, or even a bitcoin BTC wallet because when your artwork has been sold, your client has more options to pay your products and services.

A Art Website – we talk about the importance of having an art website in our previous topic, if you are willing to create a art website and don’t have time to do it, let me do it for you for a minimal cost.

Note: A art website will serve as your online gallery, there you can upload your art (as your online gallery) and even the price of your artworks.

Office, Shop Work, Art Gallery

A physical address is very important. You need to find the best spot where you will have an art gallery and a working area. So that people will visit your physical art gallery and see your actual artworks, not just online art pictures.

How to Make Money as an Artist (Proven Ways)

1. Make Money as Art Entrepreneur

Believe me, you can’t just make money as an artist, you can also create a huge wealth (a fortune) if you know how to run a business even if it’s related to art.

Tip: Create artworks and sell them, or collect arts and sell them. That’s why you need social accounts and website for you to let many people know about your art business.

2. Apply for a Job as an Artist 

This means you are an employee. You are the artists of a certain company. For example, those restaurants in Europe as an artwork, I am sure there are artists behind those artworks in ceilings, walls, and even in their glass windows.

Tip: Apply as an artist of a certain company. If you are good at sketching, then apply in FBI, if you are good at cartooning, then apply as a cartoonist in a newspaper or magazine company.

Those are the 2 options you need to do in order for you to make money as an artist. Some people teach the artist to become an affiliate, anyone can become an affiliate marketer.

When we say affiliate marketer, you are selling other people’s products or services. How come you can sell effectively other people’s products without using it or even like it.

The effective way to make money is by selling products and services (this is what I am talking about a while ago).

Make Money Selling Artist’s Products (Create Your Own)

If you have no idea, here is the list of the products you can create and sell.

Why do you need to create your own artworks instead of selling other people’s artwork? Because you are an artist, not a collector or an art trader. Besides you are the one who can only give “prices” to your products. If you think your artwork will sell $1,000,000, then go for it. So here are the products you can sell to start an art entrepreneur.

• Painting of different styles and techniques. Also, use different mediums. An extraordinary painting that is out of this world is some of the artwork that sells easily.
• You can put a nice and elegant frame with your painting. Believe me, the artwork will become more attractive and appreciated if its in an elegant frame.
• Drawing, sculptures, sketches, portraits of famous people.

Tip: When you create a portrait drawing of famous people and share it with your social media account or even on your website, many people will get attracted to it and willing to buy them. or sometimes, the man in the picture will himself buy the portrait. Who knows when you draw a portrait of President Donald Trump and the President saw the artwork, he will become more interested to buy it. A family portrait is suggested (maybe President Donald Trump and the First Family).

Make Money Selling Art Services

Here you can sell your services like painting skills, drawing skills to many people or to specific companies. If you are good in designing a logo, then sell your skills online life Fiverr.
